EXTRA-CURRICULAR DANCE
KS3 Dance | All students in years 7, 8 and 9 are welcome. We will work towards performances to be showcased in various performances. Students will have the opportunity to suggest styles they would like to learn and it is a great chance for students to participate in dance classes to extend their knowledge and have fun with their friends. |
---|---|
Dance Company | All previous Dance Company members are welcome to continue with the extra-curricular opportunity. In Dance Company we focus on extending pupils' abilities and feature all students in the production for that year. We study a wide variety of styles and work towards improving technique and performance skills. Students from any year group are welcome but will need to go through an audition process if they would like to be involved. |
EXTRA-CURRICULAR MUSIC

Mixed Choir (SATB) | Mixed choir (SATB) is made up from members of the Upper Voice Choir and Show Choir, coming together for performances at Christmas, Easter and the Summer Festival. |
Bands | Bands are an opportunity for all students to form a 'band'. This is open to all students in Years 7-11 and is an opportunity for students to come together and create a 'Pop' or 'Classical' ensemble. Guitars, Drums, Keyboards and Pianos are all available for students to use and there are designated rehearsal rooms for each ensemble to explore 'improvisation', 'cover-versions' and their own 'original' compositions. There is a variety of music available in the department and 'on-line' for use by these groups. |
Chapel Choir | Chapel Choir welcomes all singers from years 7-11, girls and boys. This group works on more challenging repertoire, with a particular focus on sacred works and songs of worship. This group is ideal for students wishing to learn how to read notation well and who are thinking about taking or currently taking GCSE Music. Auditions for new members of the Chapel Choir take place every term. |
Instrumental Ensemble | Instrumental Ensemble is an instrumental group open to all students in Years 7-11 who learn an instrument, at school/with a private teacher at home/or for fun. Orchestral and popular instruments are all welcome and parts will be written for every stage of a student's learning, including beginners.
